Welcome to the Millvale Volunteer Fire Department Web Page. Our
Station, Number 191 is located two miles north of the city of
Pittsburgh, PA. The Millvale Volunteer Fire Department services
Millvale Borough, a community of approximately 4000 residents. We are a
100% Volunteer fire department serving our citizens with reliable Fire,
Rescue, and Fire Police services. |
SNOW STORM ALERT  |
With another round of snow coming our way on Feb 9th-10th We would like to take a moment to give some information that might be helpful to the residents of Millvale
* In the event that the Electrictiy goes out again. The Millvale Community Cener will be opened as a heating center. MCC: 416 Lincoln Avenue

* In the event that a family member or loved one lives in the affected area and you would like a welfare check to be performed. Please call 911 and request one. Please have address available.
* Snow is heavy and can cause lines to break and come detached from the telephone pole. Please do not try to move the line yourself. The line may be live and can be very dangerous. Call 911 and make a report.
* Please be safe. Don't make any unnecessary trips.

Just after 4:30pm units were alerted to a working residential structure fire in a duplex on 18th st. in Sharpsburg.

At 11;57am
units were alerted to a motor vehicle crash with injury and containment. Units contained fluids that spilled from the truck and helped with 1 patient. Fire Police were also dispatched for traffic control and remained on site until the scene was cleared.

Just after 1pm, Crews were dispatched to another structure fire in a vacant house. This was a 2 alarm fire. The house was fully involved and became a Defensive fire fight.

7/10/09 - Vacant Structure Fire - Lipper St.

At 4:28am this morning crews were dispatched to Lipper St. for flames showing from the roof of a vacant house. When crews arrived it was a confirmed structure fire. Shortly after arriving they were faced with a Partial callapse but all were accounted for.

On Behalf of The Millvale Volunteer Fire Department, We would like to offer our deepest sympathy and condolences to the families and friends of the City of Pittsburgh Police Officers Eric Kelly, Stephen Mayhle, and Paul Sciullo II, as well as the entire law enforcement community.
The 3 officers were killed in the line of duty on April 4, 2009. We would also like to send our best wishes to the other 2 officers hurt at the incident. |

Just after 8:00am units were alerted to a body laying in the Girty's Run Creek Just behind Grant's Bar at 113 Lincoln Ave. Pronounced Dead at the scene.

Around 6:00pm fire fighters were alerted to the 100 block Davis St. in Millvale. When fire fighters arrived the found heavy smoke and fire from the upstairs windows. One resident was Injured when trying to escape the flames.

The Winners of the 2008 Millvale Days Raffle have been chosen!!

| Congratulations to Parkvale Bank. They are the winners of the $500.00 drawing from the MVFD annual Fundraiser. Lin Mikelas Manager and the employees of the Parkvale Millvale Branch donated half the winning back to the Millvale Volunteer Fire Department and half to Hearth. Hearth is a non profit organization for homeless mothers and their children, serving the Pittsburgh area providing transitional housing and support. Thanks to Parkvale Bank for there support to the MVFD and there good work with Hearth. For more information about Hearth visit them at hearth-bp.org. |

8/8/08 Motor Vehicle Crash

| Millvale Fire Police were dispatched to an MVC in Etna this afternoon. A truck driving up Washington St. apparently lost control of the vehicle and rolled it off the hillside down on to Parker St. While on the way down the hill it knocked down power lines as well as taking down a tree which fell onto a motorcyclist below. The biker was on his way to the hospital when he went into cardiac arrest and later died. |
