MFD

Welcome to the Millvale Volunteer Fire Department Web Page. Our Station, Number 191 is located two miles north of the city of Pittsburgh, PA. The Millvale Volunteer Fire Department services Millvale Borough, a community of approximately 4000 residents. We are a 100% Volunteer fire department serving our citizens with reliable Fire, Rescue, and Fire Police services.





**FIRST PLACE WINNER OF LIGHT RESCUE**

Today we won first place in the Mckees Rocks Firemans Parade. We won for best light rescue!!



5/24/09 MVC Head-on Evergreen Ave.


At 6:55 am. Station 191 was dispatched to a head- collision on Evergreen ave.

Crews were dispatched to a 2 vehicle T bone style motor vehicle crash with entrapment 2100 East Ohio St. at the Millvale industrial park

5/11/09 Tractor Trailer Stuck


Tractor trailor stuck at intersection of Butler St. and Evergreen.


4/19/09 Vehicle over Hill


 

Station 191 was called into action today when a Jeep Grand Cherokee went over a hillside on Logan St. Millvale

.

 

 

On Behalf of The Millvale Volunteer Fire Department, We would like to offer our deepest sympathy and condolences to the families and friends of the City of Pittsburgh Police Officers Eric Kelly, Stephen Mayhle, and Paul Sciullo II, as well as the entire law enforcement community.

The 3 officers were killed in the line of duty on April 4, 2009. We would also like to send our best wishes to the other 2 officers hurt at the incident.
 

 

 

 

3/17/09 Little brown jug Structure Fire

- News Story

Shortly after 2am crews were alerted to the Little Brown Jug at the intersection of Wibile Run Rd. and Evergreen Ave. in Shaler. Police on scene confirmed flames were showing. More to follow

2/11/09 Body found in creek

- News Story

Just after 8:00am units were alerted to a body laying in the Girty's Run Creek Just behind Grant's Bar at 113 Lincoln Ave. Pronounced Dead at the scene.

2/7/09 MVC Grant ave. & Rt. 28


Around 2:08 am. Crews were alerted to a single vehicle accident (Vehicle vs. Median) at the intersection of Rt. 28 and Grant Ave. Two trapped in vehicle.

10/13/08 Structure Fire

- News Story

Around 6:00pm fire fighters were alerted to the 100 block Davis St. in Millvale. When fire fighters arrived the found heavy smoke and fire from the upstairs windows. One resident was Injured when trying to escape the flames.

Congratulations to Parkvale Bank. They are the winners of the $500.00 drawing from the MVFD annual Fundraiser. Lin Mikelas Manager and the employees of the Parkvale Millvale Branch donated half the winning back to the Millvale Volunteer Fire Department and half to Hearth. Hearth is a non profit organization for homeless mothers and their children, serving the Pittsburgh area providing transitional housing and support. Thanks to Parkvale Bank for there support to the MVFD and there good work with Hearth. For more information about Hearth visit them at hearth-bp.org.

 

8/8/08 Motor Vehicle Crash

- News Story

Millvale Fire Police were dispatched to an MVC in Etna this afternoon. A truck driving up Washington St. apparently lost control of the vehicle and rolled it off the hillside down on to Parker St. While on the way down the hill it knocked down power lines as well as taking down a tree which fell onto a motorcyclist below. The biker was on his way to the hospital when he went into cardiac arrest and later died. MVC

 

8/2/08 Structure Fire

- News Story

Just after 2am in the 1600 block of Evergreen ave. in Shaler township fire fighters were dispatched to a working structure fire. The house turned out to vacant and up for sale. Structure Fire
